Introducing The Trigger List

If you have ever read Getting Things Done you will no doubt be aware of the idea of the trigger list, which is essentially a large selection of keywords that can be used to help trigger any thoughts, plans, ideas and projects that might be lingering at the back of your mind so that you can put them into your trusted system. While the list in the David Allen’s book is comprehensive, I recently came across another large list of extra questions to ask yourself. A very useful companion to the original, I suggest that you combine the two lists into one, print it out and pin it up in some prominent place for reference. It would be ideal for use in the weekly review.


Using Index Cards To Manage Your Life

I’m a bit late in posting this because it’s been on practically ever site out there but it’s still worth drawing attention to. Check out this guy, his take on index cards and how he uses them to organize his life. It’s quite impressive purely for the sheer scale and depth. It’s a tempting approach to try but if I ever fall off the bandwagon the system could get quite messy. While on the subject, I might as well mention another index card related site for a little humor.

How To Better Manage Your Reading Material

If you are inclined to keep all the reading material that comes into your house, you will find that it quickly takes up space and gets in the way. Despite what you might feel at the time, in the vast majority of instances you won’t ever go through that magazine or book again once you have read it.
