There are two approaches concerning the look of your desktop when it comes to being productivity on your computer. You can have it as simple as possible, which speeds your system up and leaves you with less visual distractions. Or you can pretty it up with fancy themes, effects, wallpapers etc. It makes your system more personal and nice to look at but it can slow it down and quickly becomes a big distraction, especially with all those options for tweaking…
Personally, I’ve swapped between both approaches a few times over the years and I am currently in the mood for having a good looking wallpaper. It can be quite easy to spend too much time looking for the perfect wallpaper but that’s a big waste, so nowadays I have just the one site which I refer to called Socksoff. Below I’ve picked out five of my favorite wallpapers from the site for your pleasure.
Be someone
There is nothing quite like looking up at the bright blue sky, watching the birds – or in this case a great big noisy jumbo jet – flying through the clouds overhead to give you a real perspective of the world and your place in it.
Gran Paradiso
What can be a more peaceful image than to be trekking down a dirt track, with a gentle breeze whipping past you, surrounded by beautiful forests and awe inspiring snow topped mountains? Having the image of it as your wallpaper!
Highway
Lets get all metaphorical. That long road going on into the distance is your life and all those other roads are the choices you can make in your life. Where will you end up? Where do you want to end up? Or alternatively, you may just like this wallpaper for the colors or something, whatever you prefer…
Yellow field
Remember in films, where you would get somebody running in slow-motion through the grass/hay/corn fields? Now imagine that person running in slow-motion towards the distant horizon as the credits roll, filling us all with a warm fuzzy feeling of optimism. That’s what this wallpaper could do for you…probably.
Bubbles
Can’t really come up with a clever interpretation for this particular wallpaper… it’s just bubbles, but feel free to suggest your own in the comments. I’ve run out of ideas for making a wallpaper seem deep and motivational. It just looks nice, OK?

Love these! Especially the bubbles. Reminds me of fizzy drinks on a summer day. It could also represent my thoughts percolating.

Yellow fields make people feel warm and fuzzy? It makes me think of The Catcher in the Rye (one of my all time faves).
