Beware Of Bargains And Special Offers!

Beware of special offers, price cuts, and bargains. Businesses are there to take your custom, there is always some benefit to them for any bargain they offer. There is a large customer base out there who will be influenced by a 10% off, or a 3-for-2 and miss out on what the real saving to them is. Often they will even buy something just because it’s on special offer for fear of somehow missing out, despite the fact that  nowadays you can find a new special offer every month.  Be careful, companies feed on this mentality!

Sure, you can save a fair bit of money by judicially searching for special offers but you will save even more by not buying something in the first place. Of course, if you honestly need the item that’s great. You’ve conveniently found yourself a deal and can save yourself some money in the process. However, most times people simply don’t need to buy half the stuff that  they do actually buy.

Learn to be hardnosed about special offers. There are very few genuine bargains out there. Take the typical 10%  deal as an example. Knocking that off a £10 product like a book will save you a quid. That’s hardly going to change your life. But let’s imagine you go for a more expensive electrical product like a £1000 HD television. You can save £100 with that sort of deal and on the surface that might seem a lot… but that’s still £900 you have to pay out. And if you’ve got the money to spend so much on a TV in the first place what difference is 10% going to really make?
