Organize IT Recap: Learn To Read Faster, A Large Collection Of How-To Videos And The Importance Of A Good Shredder
Organize IT recap for 19th May 2007.
- Check out this very interesting tool that claims to train you to read faster. I’ve given it a try and it definately shows potential. It’s a simple concept that flashes words of text at you at a specified speed. This forces you to eliminate backreading and reduce subvocalization… apparently.
- Mashable recently collected the ten best places to find how-to videos. Whether you’re a teacher looking for maths videos or you’re looking for a DIY project, there should be something for everybody here. It’s potentially a procrastinator’s dream, but don’t spend all your time browing through it!
- Someone dissing GTD? Oh no! Don’t worry though because Brett over at the Cranking Widgets blog is here to defend our honour. He has made some good points in response to recent criticism of all the productivity blogs out there stereotypically focusing on the latest GTD hack.
- It’s the one great issue of our de-cluttering times – how long should you keep that document? For how much time must you keep that bill or wage slip? Thankfully, Unclutterer has come to our aid and offers a guide to what exactly you can shred and when you can do it. The post also mentions how important is to have a good shredder. Not only is it invaluable for security reasons, but it just generally makes disposing of all your paper a lot easier… providing it isn’t one that gets clogged up all the time.
