If you have ever had trouble adapting to a more healthy diet then I have an approach that may help you. Lunch and dinner food tends to involve quite large portions and/or set meals and while I try to choose healthier options (chicken over red meat and vegetables over chips for instance) it can often be difficult to cook a meal/choose something at a restaurant, that is both fully healthy and tasty. So what I have done over the last few months is focus on making breakfast and snacks more healthy. It’s much easier to change those eating habits as they typically require minimal preparation and cooking.
The list below is what I try to primarily have for breakfast but I will also have as snacks during the day. The portions can be as small or large as you want and require little to no preperation. If I happen to go out for breakfast (usually a good old fashioned bacon and eggs), I still try to have the food from the list as snacks. Is there any other foods/drinks you can suggest to add to this list?
- Fruit (bananas and apples usually)
- Wholemeal cereal
- Probiotic yoghurt
- Smoothies
- Green tea

Wow, finally a no-effort-required way to healthy eating. Thanks.

My greatest problem has always been that I knew I needed to eat more health, but failed to buy healthy food. My snacks consisted mainly of chocolate simply because I didn’t have any fruits available and sweets are sold a few rooms away. While I was at the shop, I usually forgot to buy enough healthy food.
It helped me to define a concrete goal to reach. I told myself that I’ll eat at least three different kinds of fruit every single day. The first day I was stuck with apples and chocolate, but missing my goal on the very first day made me so angry that I have not forgotten to buy enough fruit since.
