Lifehack.org details some very clever hacks for index cards. In particular, I like the dry-wipe tip which allow you to re-use your cards. There are also a few other suggestions in the comments that are worth checking out.
The antipattern in programming is a piece of code often found in failing software. The same principle can be applied to task lists.
