Organize IT Recap: New Domain, Roadmap To GTD Failure

November 23rd 2007   Recap   6 comments

Organize IT recap for 23rd November 2007.

  • Hello and welcome to organizeit.co.uk! Yes, after procrastinating on buying a domain for too long, I’ve finally gone and bought one. I’ve also developed a new website design which I really hope you like. As with all major shakeups, there are lots of things to update, tweak and change so if you see any problems or bugs please, please let me know! Share your thoughts on the new design too.
  • Speaking of procrastination, check out this witty flowchart. It may take a light hearted view of the subject but it’s quite funny (or worrying depending on your point of view) how much I can relate to it. I especially like the section on food (if you don’t have to cook it then just eat it, otherwise simply go out for food). That’s so true to my life!
  • Cranking Widgets has a good article covering the roadmap to GTD failure and covers such points as only doing the weekly review when you feel like it, and never carrying around a pen and paper. The one about using your email inbox as a to-do list can also work the opposite way as I discussed in my mini series on to-do lists last week. Do you have any other rookie mistakes to add to the list? Share them in the comments!

If you already use some of even all of the following shortcuts you will no doubt be able to understand the frustration of watching those who use the old fashioned mouse method of working. Can you relate? If you know a slowpoke who could benefit from this article be sure to point it out to them so they too can streamline their computer work!

The Future Of Organize IT

November 19th 2007   Updates   11 comments

Lately I have been giving some thoughts as to where Organize IT is going and where I want it to go. Over the last few months Organize IT has hit something of a rut in terms of people visiting it, and while the site has become much more successful than I ever imagined it would be, I want to continue taking it further. Having wanted to write for a long time, and having designed websites for many years, blogging has turned out to be a great outlet for both of these interests, and it’s only natural that I want to take it as far as possible.
