Organize IT recap for 13th June 2008.
- Still collecting productivity tips from you all! Already had some very good contributions so keep them coming. I intend to bring them together and publish a big compilation in the near future so keep an eye out for it.
- When I shared this link about six work myths with a few people, it caused a stir. Many questioned the validity of some points, while others thought the article was just downright wrong. One particular point regarding the myth of working hard got a lot of focus. The article claims that in actuality you will only get rewarded if you’re likable. My favorite remark was how if you really want to be happy, you need solid personal relationships and a job that doesn’t interfere with you enjoying them. Agree/disagree?
- We all know that Albert Einstein was something of a genius, but is it possible to emulate his intellect? The article covers three quotes the Einstein made that makes for some very good advice to live by as well as providing some insight into the way he thought. Intriguingly they all revolve around imagination and creativity, rather than raw brain power.
- When does your healthy eating plan go awry? Dieting is a 24/7 habit and there are seven points during the day when it easy for all your dieting efforts to go down the drain. It then goes into detail on how you can overcome these hurdles. I found this article particularly good because it takes a look at dealing with the obstacles in your way, something I have discussed at length in the past, especially in regards to building habits. The points are applicable regardless of whether you are trying to diet or build some other habit.

Looking forward to your compilation!
I wholeheartedly agree that hard work bears little fruit without the right relationships. I wrote about tips to establishing those in my series “How to Succeed in the Corporate World” which is a summary of Dr. Lois Frankel’s “Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office”.
Raw brain power is nothing without imagination and creativity, not to mention hard work!
Whenever I drink alcohol, my diet is in danger. Somehow, I never seem to feel too full!

I’ll second Shanel here. Looking forward to it very much.
I’d put the job in first place. I’d quit mine just to find that I’m happier, less stressed, have more time and earn more solo than working for a medium firm.
Raw brain power is good - knowing how to use and organize it (co.uk) is better. Hard work hasn’t killed anyone, but yet I’d choose to work smart than to work hard (one of the reasons I actually quit my job).
Hell. My eating habits are a taboo topic to me ;)
