What Do You Want From Organize IT In 2009?

December 17th 2008   News & Updates   11 comments

It’s almost the end of the year, and seeing it’s a given that every new year should have a little introspection, I want to once again do a short post to give my readers the chance to shape how Organize IT will hopefully evolve in 2009. The blog has seen a lot of growth over the last twelve months and it’s nice to know that those little thoughts I occasionally have that develop into full blog posts are actually read (and enjoyed I hope) by so many people. Thankyou!

But the hard work must not stop here comrades! Constructive feedback is always invaluable so I’d be keen to know your thoughts, whether you’re a regular commentator or somebody who merely reads the occasional post. All those lurkers at the back, come forward and comment please! What do you like and dislike (be gentle) about Organize IT? Are the topics I write about interesting and varied? Is the standard of writing good or does it send you to sleep? I’m also curious about the the new site design I put up back in September. I never really got much feedback (probably because I only asked one person) but now is my chance to rectify that. Do you like the new layout? I feel it’s my best one to date, but do you find it easy to read, comment and explore? Look forward to your comments!

Thanks for reading!

Organize IT survives and thrives because of all your support. If you liked this post, please vote it up (links on the right), retweet it and subscribe to the feed.

I personally like when you ask questions and get reader feedback (for instance, can GTD be simplified?). I also like reading how others use and customize tools and setups, etc.

Also, with the lists… it’s not just you, but it’s annoying when there is a list of resources and many of the links link to another list of links. And so on and so on. It kind of goes against the whole productivity idea.

Thanks for the comment Matt. I’m trying to encourage more reader feedback in the way I write my posts. I’ve got plenty of reader questions in mind for the future.

As for the lists, unless I’ve mistaken what sort of post you’re meaning, I haven’t done one a while but I’ll bear your comment in mind. I try and link to a lot of other blogs nowadays whose posts I feel are helpful but it probably pays to be selective about who I choose.

Well, i really have no complaints at all on how things are going now on Organize IT, so i wouldn’t really change anything in 2009. Just keep up the good work. I came to the site when the new design was already set up, so I don’t know how it compares to the old one. Either way, I’m fine with what you have know, it’s well organized.

I like what you do though I favor the more practical posts covering stuff I can do right now. I also like when you answer questions. Overall, good stuff. No complaints here. Thankyou!

I am very much fond of your site and your approach to the matter, thankyou for all your efforts. I especially like the PDF sheets you prepared and actually use them, so I’d love to see more of those in the future, when you’re available. Thanks again!

Thanks Natalie. I’m looking to really shake up my PDF sheets and create some new designs in the near future so keep an eye out for that.

MindManager 8 is here… now what? I like what you do and I’m curious how your great ideas could be better implemented using that great program. Thankyou!

Thanks for the suggestion Elias. Unfortunately I’m very much a lo-fi type of person. It’s all pen and paper for me. I’ve hardly ever touched software like MindManager so I wouldn’t know where to begin. Maybe this is an hole that needs filling…

Actually James I apologize about mentioning my list pet peeve. Your blog doesn’t do that (list a list of lists). I must have had you confused with another blog in my reader. Keep up the good work!

I love the new layout James! This site is very easy to negotiate. I find that you write clearly on very relevant topics. Please continue to cover the topic of organizing the home and getting rid of clutter. Your ebooks are amazing, really easy to read and make sense.

Organize IT is a practical site, and has helped many by tackling the problems of today. Procrastination is something that we are hearing about all the time, and I appreciate your posts on this subject, which is so common in our everyday lives. I too, like when you answer questions on your blog.

Keep up the good work!
