A Further Explanation Of How I Use My Weekly Planner

October 17th 2008   Updates   3 comments

On Monday, I had the privilege of having Lifehacker mention my weekly planner. It brought hundreds (thousands?) of new visitors my way, who wanted to check it out. However there was some doubt as to how I actually use it with many wanting to see a filled in example. So today that’s exactly what I’m going to give you. I hope this will clarify a few points for you all. If you still have any questions please leave a comment and I will try to answer them.

Blog Action Day: Poverty And The Lifestyle Inflation Factor

October 15th 2008   Financial   2 comments

Today is Blog Action day, an annual nonprofit event that aims to unite the world’s bloggers together to post about the same issue on the same day, with the aim of raising awareness and promoting discussion. Last year it was all about the environment, this year the topic is poverty. Thousands of sites are likely to get involved so be sure to keep an eye out. Not too long ago I came across the concept of raising your consciousness. Any habit or behaviour is a subconscious action, which means you basically do it without thinking about it. Sound familiar? Can you see any other similarities in this video?

The Art Of Time Management: My Own Experiences

October 8th 2008   Productivity   5 comments

Over the last two weeks I’ve been looking at time management. Firstly, I looked at the misconception that there is never enough time in the day. I found that the more time we have the more likely we are to waste it anyway. As one comment said, even if we had 48 hours in the day we’d still want more. With this in mind I started looking at what it takes to use your time better by looking at the two building blocks of good time management; being effective and efficient. To conclude I want to take a look at how I personally manage my time using those two principles, so that you have a better idea of what is involved. Excuse all the links in this post but to avoid repeating stuff I think it’s better if I point you to other posts dedicated to the various topics rather than rehashing it here. I hope it proves useful for you.
