A book written by a developmental molecular biologist that offers several principles for surviving and thriving at work, home and school? In Brain Rules, John Medina, brings together the volumes of research on how the brain works and uses it as a basis for presenting twelves principles on how to make the most of your grey matter. Sounds like an odd but intriguing mix right? I’ve wanted to read Brain Rules for a long while and after being repeatedly disappointed by the inability of UK bookstores to stock it, I finally bought it online. But was it worth it?

Last week I wrote about the ‘Someday’ disease. It’s the syndrome that runs rampant in modern society. Millions of people put off their lives, goals and dreams all the time, saying they will do it someday. But when exactly? When conditions are perfect? When you  have enough experience and knowledge? I will soon be compiling my next ebook to accompany the Clutter 101 and Productivity Tips releases. Organize IT has been going since 2006 now, and there are over 500 posts. However, the problem with blogs is the older content often gets pushed down and forgotten about. There are a few decent posts from the early days of Organize IT that hardly anyone read, and that’s what has inspired me to do this next ebook, a best of 2006/2007 compilation.

Someday in the future I want to get out of my apartment and get a house complete with a garden. I’ll be able to play my music as loud as I want and have somewhere to kick a football around. Someday, maybe in a few years time, I want to learn a new language and write a book. Someday. Maybe… If this sounds like the sort of thing you say, a quick trip to the productivity doctor would probably reveal that you’re suffering from a bout of Someday disease.
