My creativity series is one of the most popular on Organize IT. In the previous three parts, I looked at tools, locations and attitudes that all helped to foster creativity. However, in this post I will take a different angle on the subject and look at issues that have the opposite effect. I’d like to hear your thoughts on this. Do you have any other suggestions on things that stunt the creative thought process?

A few months I did a mini series focusing on getting creative. The first part covered the necessary tools required, while the second part looked at locations you can visit to encourage creative thinking. However, as someone recently pointed out, all these tips helped to encourage existing creative thought, but they didn’t help you to think creatively in the first place. Creativity is all about coming up with new ideas, interpretations and methods and involves thinking and exploring what goes through your mind. It’s a quality that should be encouraged at all walks of life. You need to feed your creative side with inspirational material, give it the time and attention is needs.
