The new year is always welcomed in by two things - resolutions and the detox. There is very little to add to the former that hasn’t already been covered before in every form of media out there. So, in this post I would like to talk about detoxing, which has taken an increased role over recent years as health and dieting has had increased coverage. While detoxing can obviously be done at any time, it seems to be quite common for people to make a determined effort during the new year, when no doubt the effects of an extravagant festive period are kicking in.

If you are inclined to keep all the reading material that comes into your house, you will find that it quickly takes up space and gets in the way. Despite what you might feel at the time, in the vast majority of instances you won’t ever go through that magazine or book again once you have read it.

Over at LifeClever they have a great article covering ten tips for keeping your desk clean and tidy. I’m sure many of you will know how tricky it can be to make something tidy and keep it that way. I thought I would add to these points with my own experiences and ideas. As my job and general lifestyle doesn’t really require me to follow GTD to the letter, I can pick and alter elements of it to suit my personal needs, hence the following (arguably non-GTD friendly) tips.
