It’s something of a tradition at this time of year that everyone writes advice about new year’s resolutions. Whether it be on TV, in magazines or on blogs (ahem…), they all seem happy to dish out ill thought advice left, right and center. However I am going to buck this trend and provide a damning indictment of the new year’s resolution. Much of the tips offered are generalized and recycled junk that end up offering nothing practical for the readers. Animals largely live their lives around these fluctuations, and many years ago, humans would have done the same (what could be described as surfing the waves). The benefits are obvious, whether it be reduced stress, to increased spare time.

Doubts. We all have them, it is part of being human. Depending on how you deal with them, they can guide you away from potentially difficult/dangerous situations or cause you to miss a great opportunity. It is important we learn to understand why we get them and what purpose they are serving us under each situation. For instance, if I have doubts about a website I have built I have learned to trust my doubts as they usually lead me to a better design. However if I get doubts about going into a really busy bar I know it’s just because of all the new faces I am seeing and put it to the back of my mind. Below are 8 different ways of how you can deal with your doubts.
