Organize IT Recap: Body Language, Free Time

Organize IT recap for 26th May 2007

  • Lots of Organize IT related information to start this recap off. Don’t forget you can now advertise on the site for a measly $5 a month. Go and check out this page for more details if you are interested.
  • I’ve finally added a search box! It’s on the sidebar so try it out.
  • I’ve made the RSS full post again. I changed it to only have summaries of posts just to see how successful it was but I think it’s better when it displays the entire post. If you havn’t already subscribed to it, please do. I’ve set myself a target to meet by the end of the month :)
  • In the next few weeks I am going to add a lot more Clutter 101 articles. In the meantime you really have to check out this site and the concept of a landing strip in your home. There are plenty of ideas there to check out.
  • This is a pretty definitive list of ways to improve your body language. After looking at this list and thinking back to my last interview, there is certainly room for me to improve :)
  • I’ve talked about how to use your free time in a previous post but this post on Lifehack.org by Leo of Zen Habits is a great accompaniment. I may have to revise my own article in the near future!

Organize IT recap for 19th May 2007

  • If you are interested in advertising on Organize IT I am now selling text ad links at very reasonable rates. For full details check out this page
  • Check out this very interesting tool that claims to train you to read faster. I’ve given it a try and it definately shows potential.
  • I’ve yet to really look into it, but this site has the 10 best places to find how-to videos. That’s a lot of potential information there so I might have to get a good start on checking it all out.

Organize IT Recap: GTD Criticism, Paper Clutter

May 12th 2007   Recap   0 comments

Organize IT recap for 12th May 2007

  • I’ve added an about page which you can view here or via the sidebar. It has a few details about the site and my favourite posts. In the near future I may even add some information about yours truly :)
  • Don’t forget I am offering to post to you the stationary parts of the GTD system I use for a small price. Check out this page for details. I’ll post anywhere and seeing as I will be adding a lot of free templates in the coming weeks, there will be plenty of useful sheets you can add to it.
  • Someone dissing GTD? Oh my god! Don’t worry though because Brett over at the Cranking Widgets blog has made some good points in response to recent criticism of all the productivity blogs out there.
  • It’s the great issue of our de-cluttering times; how long should you keep that document? Luckily, Unclutterer has a large guide to what you can shred and what you can’t.

Organize IT Recap: Bad Habits, Holiday Break

April 28th 2007   Recap   0 comments

Organize IT recap for 28th April 2007

  • Firstly I should say I am on holiday next week so there won’t be any recap. While there won’t be as many updates as normal I still intend to line a few posts up so make sure you keep checking the site out!
  • I have done the third part of my Clutter 101 series this week and to accompany it I have added the content to the Clutter 101 Compiled PDF which you can also get to via the sidebar. In case you don’t know about it, it is essentially all the Clutter 101 posts brought together for ease of reference.
  • As I mentioned in last weeks recap, readers can happily send in any content or links they feel I will be interested in. Somebody sent me an email about a contacts manager called BigContacts which looks very comprehensive and may be worth a further look.
  • Habits are quite a big deal over at Organize IT and I intend to go in the subject a lot more in the near future. In the meantime this is a very interesting article on the topic.

Organize IT Recap: Living Offline, Introversion

April 22nd 2007   Recap   0 comments

Organize IT recap for 22nd April 2007

  • Somone emailed me a guide on how to make your offline life easier which is a very interesting read and has some good ideas so I’ve included it in the recap. Though I have not really thought about receiving user submitted content before I’d gladly accept any submissions or link suggestions and if it’s any good I will consider putting it up.
  • Being rather introverted myself and having dealt with quite a few other introverts in my time I can really relate to this article
  • I talked about Thinking Rock in a recent recap and while I have yet to try it, I came across this review which provides some good insight into how it works.
  • As I mentioned in my previous post the latest version of Ubuntu is out and it would be good to hear your thoughts and experiences, especially regarding using Linux with your productivity setup
