We are well into the holiday season now and no doubt many of you will be travelling around catching up with friends and family. Hopefully you haven’t left it this late to do your Christmas shopping though! Whatever plans and arrangements you have for the next week or so, make sure you enjoy it! With everyday pressures and stresses increasing year on year in our lives, it often feels like this is the one holiday period that actually feels like an holiday so take the opportunity to relax and recharge. I might have dismissed new year’s resolutions in a previous post, but the period is still a great chance to review your performance and judge what sort of direction you want to take in 2008. Have an happy holiday!

Lately I have been giving some thoughts as to where Organize IT is going and where I want it to go. Over the last few months Organize IT has hit something of a rut in terms of people visiting it, and while the site has become much more successful than I ever imagined it would be, I want to continue taking it further. Having wanted to write for a long time, and having designed websites for many years, blogging has turned out to be a great outlet for both of these interests, and it’s only natural that I want to take it as far as possible.

Apologies for the downtime the last 24 hours. I’ve seen the bandwidth usage of the site increase every month as the site got more popular but it must have really jumped recently and it caught me by surprise when I hit the limit. It’s funny how sometimes you don’t act to resolve a situation until the situation has actually happened. However, what was rather more aggrieving was how it unexpectedly took over 24 hours for my web hosts to deal with a simple request to purchase extra bandwidth. I’ll be taking web host issues a lot more seriously from now on.
The downtime came just when I had spent a good while writing a great post called Getting Things Done… Faster which I was hoping to get plenty of comments and feedback on. So if you didn’t get a chance to read the post because the site was down please still do so, I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Over at Productivity501 I was invited to participate in a group email interview. This was a great privilage to be included as there were a lot of other big productivity blogs included in it. The various responses to the questions are very interesting and I highly suggest you check them out. In this post I thought I would go over my answers and share my thinking behind them.

I’ve been getting myself a ridiculous number of hits this last day or 2 after my latest Clutter 101 article got onto Lifehack.org and broke onto the del.icio.us popular list. I noticed that it seems to be customary when this sort of thing happens to introduce the blog to all the new readers and point them to some of my favourite posts. So here goes…
Organize IT is all about bringing advice and tips (as much as possible, specific actionable advice) on living a more healthy, productive and efficient lifestyle. That includes finances, health, relationships, career and personal growth in general. Where possible I try to incorporate productivity tools like GTD and lifehacking into the mix. Some of my best posts to date are below. I hope you all enjoy the content and stick around. Feel free to leave comments and/or subscribe to the feed
