Last week I introduced my year in review. However, I’m not the only site that has done this, so I thought I would collate them all together as it’s a great opportunity to read the cream of the crop without having to dig through each site. You could end up spending a lot of time on this, but you will no doubt pick up a lot of useful information and ideas. If you know any other productivity blogs that have done a year in review, let me know and I will add them to the list.
Getting Things Done is really just a collection of habits, and when they are all adopted into your life they bring about a marked improvement in your productivity and general work performance. However the problem is the GTD book isn’t exactly written in terms of habit building so it can be tricky for a newbie to come along and put it all into practice on a regular basis. In an attempt to address this I will do a mini series covering the different elements of GTD and giving some insight into how to build them up into habits. For an introduction to the methods I will be using checking out my article on habit building.
I’ve always got a book or two handy to read whenever I have a bit of spare time. However, if you are an heavy duty book reader you probably find you end up with a large backlog of unread books. Try out these five sneaky methods to squeeze out extra time in your day for reading.
Productivity Goal has a look at whether background music can increase your productivity. I don’t think I have a preference about what is playing in the background, however I do prefer having something on, whether it be music, podcasts or even the TV. Whether that improves my productivity or not is unclear. Do you have particular choices of music for when working?
I just want to thank everybody who made a donation to show their support for this blog over the last year (you can check out the information for donating here). Rest assured that I will continue to write regular content and I’m also going to put a lot of focus into expanding my productivity templates range so keep an eye out for that!
So, the first full year for Organize IT is over and as is traditional at this time, I hereby present my year in review! I know, you are all probably fed up of reading yearly recap posts right now, but they do serve a useful purpose. One of the quirks with blogs is that older posts can quickly get lost in the mix of other content, so a recap is a great opportunity to re-introduce some classic posts to the readers. Below are what I consider to be the top articles from over the last twelve months, broken down into quarterly periods. Please do check them out, and if you find them interesting reading leave a comment. I do try and reply to every one of you! Thanks to all my readers for making 2007 a successful first year for Organize IT.
