Organize IT Recap: Body Language, Free Time

May 26th 2007   Recap   0 comments

Organize IT recap for 26th May 2007

  • Lots of Organize IT related information to start this recap off. Don’t forget you can now advertise on the site for a measly $5 a month. Go and check out this page for more details if you are interested.
  • I’ve finally added a search box! It’s on the sidebar so try it out.
  • I’ve made the RSS full post again. I changed it to only have summaries of posts just to see how successful it was but I think it’s better when it displays the entire post. If you havn’t already subscribed to it, please do. I’ve set myself a target to meet by the end of the month :)
  • In the next few weeks I am going to add a lot more Clutter 101 articles. In the meantime you really have to check out this site and the concept of a landing strip in your home. There are plenty of ideas there to check out.
  • This is a pretty definitive list of ways to improve your body language. After looking at this list and thinking back to my last interview, there is certainly room for me to improve :)
  • I’ve talked about how to use your free time in a previous post but this post on Lifehack.org by Leo of Zen Habits is a great accompaniment. I may have to revise my own article in the near future!

In this post I will focus on the bedroom. With so much clothing and personal belongings often stored here it can be a hotbed of clutter and disorganization so in particular I will give suggestions on how you can create more space and use existing storage more efficiently.

Ask The Readers: How Do Your Store Photos?

May 22nd 2007   Ask The Readers   6 comments

While I keep digital copies of my photos on my computer, I also like to have them developed and put in a photo album as I am still very much for having physical copies of things. The only problem is all the photo albums I have ever come across are quite bulky, and especially after my recent holiday I have a large number of photos that need storing. I figure I will need another two photo albums purely for this latest set, and combined with the three I already have that’s a lot of space taken up. How much room will my photos take up in another few years at this rate?

So I’m curious as to what other storage options are out there that allow for easy viewing and are space efficient. If any of my readers have any ideas or experience on this matter then I would be very, very grateful to hear from you. Please leave a comment and we can share thoughts!

What Influences Our Priorities In Life?

May 21st 2007   Personal Development   6 comments

How we prioritize things in our life is determined by a number of elements which I have detailed below. We all have some idea of our purpose and where we want to be in our life, even if it’s only short term goals, rather than some grand life plan and it is important to understand how they affect and influence our priorities during different stages of our life. We don’t just decide to do one task over another randomly. There is a logic to it based on those things you deem most important. Note the distinction between the influences in this post and short term influences such as time available, tools needed and immediate consequences.
