Organize IT recap for 12th May 2007
- I’ve added an about page which you can view here or via the sidebar. It has a few details about the site and my favourite posts. In the near future I may even add some information about yours truly :)
- Don’t forget I am offering to post to you the stationary parts of the GTD system I use for a small price. Check out this page for details. I’ll post anywhere and seeing as I will be adding a lot of free templates in the coming weeks, there will be plenty of useful sheets you can add to it.
- Someone dissing GTD? Oh my god! Don’t worry though because Brett over at the Cranking Widgets blog has made some good points in response to recent criticism of all the productivity blogs out there.
- It’s the great issue of our de-cluttering times; how long should you keep that document? Luckily, Unclutterer has a large guide to what you can shred and what you can’t.

After I came back from holiday I had the undesirable task of unpacking everything, washing all the clothes and putting stuff away (in fact I’m still doing it now). Normally I have to keep the suitcases under the bed. As you all probably know suitcases are pretty hefty things to store, and in my case, under the bed was the only practical place for them. It’s hardly the most efficient use of space however, so I’ve decided to use them as storage. My partner’s suitcase is used to store the large collection of shoes she never wears but refuses to part with, while mine is used to store all the jumpers and thick coats we have that are no use during the Summer. Ok, when I go on a holiday I will have to take them all out again, but if you are like me and are only likely to go on a big holiday with a suitcase once or twice a year, I wouldn’t consider it a problem. After all, it’s only a five minute job to take everything out as you pack, and then put it all back in again when the holiday is over. You are going to be miles away getting sunburnt, so it doesn’t really matter if you pile the stuff up in a corner for a few days :)

Getting Things Done

People have been asking me recently about what folder I use for my GTD system, what sheets I use etc. While it is basically quite a simple system I have designed quite a lot of templates to use. I have gradually been putting them up for everyone to use. However due to requests I have decided to offer the full package, as it were. I’m now selling the folder, divider and a collection of templates for you to use. The price is quite reasonable and just covers the cost of getting hold of the various parts and posting them on. Please go to this page and check it out. If you aren’t interested at the very least there is an ever expanding collection of free templates for you to use :)

Getting Things Done, Links

I’ve been away for over a week on holiday hense the lack of posts recently. From today I’m hoping to catch up with things. One of the first things I did when I got back home was to get up to date with the latest goings on with my favourite sites. I have quite a few productivity blogs bookmarked on my del.icio.us account so it certainly took a while :) It got me to thinking which of these sites really stood out for me and provided top content on a regular basis. In an attempt to answer this I’ve come up with my top 10 GTD & productivity sites/blogs. Bear in mind, it’s by no means definitive. There are so many sites out there that I could quite easily wake up tomorow and change half the list :)
